[SOLVED] Microphone in wireless bluetooth headphones not working

    Operating System: Kubuntu 22.04
    KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.7
    KDE Frameworks Version: 5.92.0
    Qt Version: 5.15.3
    Kernel Version: 5.19.0-46-generic (64-bit)
    Graphics Platform: X11
    Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz
    Memory: 23.1 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 620

    Headphones: Sony WH-CH510

I am connecting my Bluetooth headphones to my laptop and the sound output from the headphone is working fine, however the headphone's microphone is not working, i can only capture the input voice via the laptop's microphone, the headphone's microphone is not capturing anything. It's like Kubuntu is not detecting the headphone's microphone and it's not appearing is the sound settings.

Any idea how can i solve that ?

This may or may not work on *buntu 22.04, but with Bt headsets, you have to do some fiddling, depending on the unit and the protocols it supports for this.

But it isn't hard to try. Open up your audio settings in System Settings and look for your connected headset:

    These are my Bluetooth earbuds.

On the drop down, you hopefully will see multiple options:

Try different ones and look for one that makes a microphone appear in the Recording Devices section.

Then, you should be able to select the headphone's mic here, or via the system tray applet.

You will need to try different ones, one of the profiles, or more, will make your headphone's audio have a phone-level quality.

I didn't get an email notification when you answered 😬

These are my initial settings when connecting the headphones:

I found it after changing the profile to "Hansdfree head unit" tho the sound is not very clear but working:
