Hello All,
Today I decided to take one of my old gaming PC's and throw Kubuntu on it. I tested in a VM and loved it! After installation my hdmi was not being detected. It has only Hdmi port, and I see via portscan that ssh is not open. Any way for me to get access to it? If I remember right Nvidia 470 drivers were auto installed. I searched all day, but it seems like everyone with this issue had access to konsole, and I do not. Lastly I do not see BIOS either after installing, but the hostname resolves when I scan the device on my network.
specs (from what I remember)
Intel I-7
Nvidia GTX 970
500gb SSD samsung
edit: SOLVED! see below
So if you install Kubunutu and you do not see anything, it most likely is the graphics card not communicating to the monitor, switch to one that connects directly to the motherboard (doesnt matter if DVI, HDMI, or DP) and you will get the black screen to where you can open konsole
Thanks everyone, I hope this helps others
