    Firefox missing from Application Launcher

I installed Kubuntu 22.04.3 last night. Firefox worked fine. It was listed in the Application Launcher.

However, this morning I booted up and now Firefox is not listed in the Application Launcher. The "Dock" (probably not correct term) has a generic icon for preferred://browser and not the Firefox icon.

Firefox is still installed. I can run it from the command line. However, it's not in the Application Launcher.

I reinstalled the Firefox snap. No luck. I ran sudo dpkg -P firefox, reinstalled, and also had no luck.

I learned more. This problem only happens after changing my shell with chsh -s /bin/zsh. I reverted to Bash, logged in again, and the problem with Firefox went away.

Looks like zsh can't find all of Firefox's components. Possibly a path problem where the path is different between the two shells. Maybe as a result of the environment used to install Firefox.

As a start, you can check the PATH environment in each shell and compare.
