This is new to me. I've always made the file name in the Name field of the download dialog, then downloaded it to whatever location I want in my information/data area. In my temporary/interim situation (Kub. 22.04 on 128 Gb flash drive), I have to download the file as it's named by default and then only the 22.04's Downloads folder. Then I can rename it and move it to where I want it stored. I used to be able to rename it, but upon clicking download, it yielded an error message saying I couldn't download two of the same file. Huh? Now, however, I can't even rename it; I HAVE to download it as the site names it, then proceed as I said. Anybody have any idea of what's going on?

As soon as I start using an OS, I set up the web browser and make sure to set it to ask where I want to download it to. Just checked Fx. It was set to download to Downloads, but I also had the box below saying to ask where I want it downloaded to checked. I just changed the Downloads field to the beginning of the data storage area. But I still can't change the file name before I download it.
This is all new. I never have had these problems before.Last edited by RLynwood; May 16, 2023, 04:55 PM.
