Wanting to change my desktop password, I looked for 'Users and groups' and couldn't find it in the menu. So I searched for it, got Users, but nothing happens when I click it. What's going on?

when I get to it through the search utility and click it, nothing happens
If using passwd you get no error and your password is not changed, I'm scratching for possible causes. Some security mechanism, more appropriate for hardened systems, maybe.Regards, John Little

I certainly can, and it wes there all along for me, too. I just never thought it would be System Settings; I thought it would be in System or perhaps even in Utilities. Again, I'm very sorry for bothering you. I should have found it easily. See my edited previous post. And thanks for the affirmation of my experience with the passwd command.
