Just one question for you, did you find that in order to show the chosen name of the device with the "new" Thermal Monitor widget that you have to set the minimum panel height to 40 px? I usually go a little smaller than that, but then the names disappear if I do that.

Edit: Oh, I just realised that the "new" Thermal Monitor works OK for me on KDE Neon, but when I try to install it on Kubuntu 22.04 LTS I get an error message:

"file:///home/redacted/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.olib.thermalmonitor/contents/ui/main.qml:12:1: module "org.kde.kirigami" version 2.20 is not installed"

So I guess that Plasma version is too old on Kubuntu 22.04? I'm not even sure how to check what version of kirigami I have on there.
    Hello TRobo,

yes, you are right: if your panel height is less than 40 px the labelling vanishes…
I wrote to the author (on store.kde.org) and he said that he will consider adding options for further customization. I guess he will be occupied with the Plasma 6 version of the widget in the near future, though. In fact he wrote that the Plasma 5 version is "backported".

Did you check that all of the requirements for the widget are met in Plasma 5 / Kubuntu 22.04 ?
    ksystemstats, libksysguardformatter1, libksysguardsensorfaces1, libksysguardsensors1, libksysguardsystemstats1, qml-module-org-kde-kitemmodels (and probably libkf5kirigami2-5 and qml-module-org-kde-kirigami2)?
For me the widget works fine in Kubuntu 22.04 (Plasma 5.27.9 - with Kubuntu Backports and additional Kubuntu Backports Extra).

Yes, my system has all of those packages automatically installed, although the thing I don't know how to check is the version of Kirigami that I have, but I guess it must be too old if I am getting that error.

Thanks for that info. I am (obviously) not using backports at the moment to get updates to Plasma. If that is what it needs, then I might just wait until Kubuntu 24.04 comes out.
