lost desktop environment on latest update [SOLVED]

I'm on kubuntu 22.04 LTS and after I updated this evening, my desktop is gone...

I then installed all packages that were held back, which were a number of plasma and KDE environment packages (although I don't recall exactly which they were) -- but this didn't restore my desktop.

I then added the 5.25 PPA https://kubuntu.org/news/plasma-5-25...lable-via-ppa/, hoping that would restore the desktop, but it did not...

Now I have no menu, taskbar or ability to interact with my system except through the programs I had open before the update (Firefox and Konsole).

    Any ideas?

    the answer was here...

    I ran this
    Code:
sudo apt update && sudo apt install kubuntu-desktop sddm-theme-breeze kubuntu-settings-desktop
as Snowhog suggested and it worked...
