After logging out of Desktop to text console kio_http_cache_cleaner remains active

I've noticed that when I use KDE via `startx` and I log out of the desktop / KDE GUI/window manager the `kio_http_cache_cleaner` process remains active and continues to execute. How can I diagnose this issue and ensure that it does not remain active following going back to a text console only?

This has been a noted problem of this particular program for years. See:
    https://utcc.utoronto.ca/~cks/space/...SignalsIgnored
they exit if their connection to the X server goes away. The exception is my non-friend kio_http_cache_cleaner, which is apparently so disconnected from everything that it doesn't notice my X session disappearing.
Others have complained of disk thrashing. Users have been desperate enough to disable the executable bit on the process binary itself. One debian user wrote patches to alter the program. I can tell you that this process never runs on my machine. I also never use konqueror and actually uninstall it from all of my KDE installations. I have absolutely no use for it. I use firefox and dolphin. I have never used it in the last 20 years, even on kde2 and kde 3.
I am under the impression that most people having issues with this process, namely disk thrashing, high cpu use, runaway process when X server is killed, etc., are using konqueror. I would recommend trying alternative applications that provide similar functionality instead. If you are not using konqueror then I have no idea what program might be starting this process. Konqueror relies on it heavily. I don't think the bugs are going away any time soon. If uninstalling and not using konqueror does not apply to you or is not an option, then I sadly believe you are going to have to live with the bugs or consider filing a bug report.
