Thunderbird 91.3.1 won't save the settings

We have a voice over ip phone system, and the voice mail messages is saved as an mp3 file. I get this annoying “pop up” message every time you open a voice mail message via VLC player. The default is set on VLC, but it won’t simply remembers the settings no matter what you do, and the message pops up every time you play a voice mail. I’m using the Thunderbird 91.3.1, and the same issue also exist on my other computer with Manjaro. So it is definitely a Thunderbird bug and not a KDE issue. Any ideas how to fix it, or we just have to wait until Thunderbird fix this bug?

Have you tried what Thunderbird is telling you: "Settings can be changed in Thunderbird's Preferences."

VLC media player is already set as default, and it won't let me uncheck the "Always ask me where to save files" box.
