    Virtual keyboard

The virtual keyboard icon appears bottom left in login screen, but never to be seen again. How to bring up the virtual keyboard once logged i?

You could also install onboard as a temp solution?

Yes, I have done that, but it seems a strange thing to have to do when there is obviously a virtual keyboard available somewhere within the vast mish-mash of software. If only it can be found!

It is bit more complex than that. I don't fully grok it myself, but a virtual keyboard at a login manager that only needs to be in one place, and to be used in one specific text box is not the same as having one while running xorg or wayland.

For all intents and purposes, Plasma does not quite yet have a virtual keyboard, for Xorg, and only for Wayland if you have a very recent plasma release AND have a more recent build of the maliit frameworks than the ones provided in Ubuntu, and the maliit keyboard (not in Ubuntu at the moment), and some configurations.

As Onboard is a Gtk application, it isn't going to be part of a default Kubuntu install due to the added Gtk dependencies that would be needed on the install image.
