Keyboard icon missing in Kubuntu 21.04 dev

Keyboard icon missing in Kubuntu 21.04 dev. Actually, all the icons were missing in the task bar other than the clock after today's update. Found most of the icons in the widgets, but cannot find the keyboard layout widget. Where can I find it? Thanks!

Well, it is a dev release still, and very much still seems to be in a very unstable state at this very early stage.

Normally, you get the keyboard layout icon in the system tray after you have added multiple layouts, in System Settings. You probably just have to add some first.


Or wait for 21.04 to stabilize and try again.

Should be fixed now by available upgrades.

This was due to some parts of KDE frameworks not migrating from the archive proposed pocket to the release pocket at the same time. Parts of the stack were held back long QA test queues and flaky/lengthy Libreoffice tests. Usually such a thing does not cause much issue, but this time it seems particular code changes did not work well until the whole stack migrated.
