recoll initiates and runs without ending

recoll has long been my favorite user account indexing program. Lately, it initiates as scheduled by me, but then runs without ever stopping, consuming a significant percentage of CPU cycles. I have to kill it to stop it.

I cannot find anything about this problem in this forum or on the web. I tried to join what was said to be the recoll use forum and got nowhere - just went in circles. Very strange.

So.....any suggestion about how to move forward with this problem?

IMO, the most likely cause is a corrupted recoll index file. If it were me this was happening to, I'd tell recoll to rebuild the index.

That didn't fix the problem. Time has passed. I'm trying it again...
