Setup GIMP IRC in Konversation

I am trying to use the IRC channel of GIMP which is

irc://irc.gimp.org/#gimp-users

But I am not able to set it up properly in Konversation. All my attempts end up in " Host not found " error. If possible, help me fix this. Thanks.

That address *should* be usable via a web browser

To use a normal irc client you need to first add the network, in this case it would be just 'irc.gimp.org'

Once you connect to that network you just have to join the channel #gimp-users

I disabled the Global Proxy option. Now it works. Thanks

Remove the / from the Servers entry.

why do you have a slash in the server address?

it would be just 'irc.gimp.org'

I think you will also want/need/is extremely recommended to find and read a general IRC primer/etiquette

I removed the #gimp-users and kept the rest.
