[PLASMA 5] Right click - Set as wallpaper

I really hate how hard it is to set a wallpaper in Kubuntu 20.04. Every time I have to browse to the wallpaper location to set it as wallpaper. It was so easy when I right click on Firefox or Files and say " Set as wallpaper ". Is there any way to achieve this in 20.04 ? Thanks.

There are a number of Dolphin services one can add for this purpose. I have no idea what Files offers for this sort of functionality.

As for browsers, we don't have the tight browser infiltration integration with the OS that Windows has, and I don't see this available as an extension for either FF or Chrome.

      Thanks @claydoh

It is really comforting to know it is possible. Can you please tell me how to add the " Set as Wallpaper " feature to Gwenview or Dolphin ?

      By " Files ", I meant " Nautilus ".

I don't use nautilus, so can't help you there.

Go to Dolphin's settings and look for Services, then it should be pretty obvious where to go from there

Great ! Thanks. There is so much in Kubuntu for me to discover. I had no idea such a plugin system exists. Works fine now.

Of course , in principle anyway. Get to Dolphin Preferences (that can be tricky) and choose the Services tab. Click "Download New Services", and search for "wallpaper". I don't know which, or if any, work.

You may be interested in the Vallpaper plugin, or something like it. Right-click the desktop, choose "Configure desktop...", and click "Get New Plugins..." and hold on to your head, in case it gets blown. Vallpaper does slide shows and videos, even from arbitrary URLs, but I just use it to have different wallpapers on different virtual desktops like KDE 3.

Nice. I got an option from the very first entry. Thankfully, it is working now.
