    kamoso doesn't find webcam, cheese and firefox do

    kamoso just says "No device found". Cheese worked straight away, but it's a bit gnome 1-ish.
    Code:
    $ lsusb | grep -i cam
    001 Device 002: ID 046d:08b1 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Notebook Pro
    Or is there a better KDE app for a webcam?

    Plasma -specific, no. Just cheese, or if your webcam is one of many that use the uvc driver, guvcview has lots of optiions and settings, but the 'g' is not a 'k'.

    In my experience, it seems that When Cheese works for my cam, Kamoso does not, and vice versa.

    Kamoso is working on my laptop (version 20.08 on Neon) , though the colors are off ( or it is using a filter I can't turn off lol)

      guvcview works really well, with nice quality video, as well. This works on many cams, but iirc not all of them.

        Thanks. guvcview gives lots of errors and says it can't find the video device, though it suggests it. Some of the errors refer to not finding a "jack" server.

        I'm now thinking I am quite fortunate that cheese worked, and that the app I really need to work, firefox, has no trouble.
