It seems to have sorted itself out and stopped doing it. If only that happened for all problems
I started looking at other e-mail clients in case it remained broken and tried. I already know I am not a fan of Thunderbird, so I didn't try that.
Geary - This installed a load of gnome mess so I got rid of it. I think you can only install one account on it too, which is no good for me.
Trojita - This seems to be an abandoned program (2016 last update), which is a shame because it looks really at home with KDE (just needthe icon set for dark themes looking at). It needs some work done on it, couldn't resize the subject column and can only add one account, which is disappointing.
Kube - just doesn't work with most places.
Neomutt - Terminal based. Takes a bit of setting up but someone has a made a wizard for, which made it simpler. I actually really like this, so it's now my other e-mail client

Mailspring is OK. It occasionally has a sync problem but they update it regularly and I haven't seen that in awhile. Cross platform also if that matters
