    message logs

I just got updates, including Linux firmware and kernel updates. Rebooted, logged in, and just before the Desktop came up (successfully), there was a black screen, upper left-hand corner, white print: something about "Bios."
What log would have that message in it, do you think?

    /var/log

Some logs require sudo to access, such as boot.log

If you use KSystemLog, you can access and search all of them, including systemd (journald) logs, which usually are not text files.

I used KSystemLog, put in the search window the word 'BIOS,' a few things came up (in different logs), but I see nothing ominous -- just informational stuff, benign notifications. Handy to have those logs in one app; and the Search feature filters fast. Thanks.

I got those error messages too with kernel 5.15. Google and others say it's safe to ignore them...
