20.04 slower response than 18.04

    20.04 slower response than 18.04

    Has anyone else noticed a much slower response time when using 20.04 compared with 18.04?

    It is particularly noticeable when right-clicking a menu item to place it either on the desktop or the taskbar.

    I find in general it is much less snappy than 18.04 overall.

    Not a deal-breaker for me but I wonder if anyone else has noticed this.

    My Plasma desktop is lightening fast. However, I am running it off of a Samsung EVO 680 500GB SSD and I have my Nvidia GT 650M GPU driving my desktop.

      Actually, I've noticed quite the opposite. Especially on the laptop, which is old, 2-core Celeron and 4G of RAM.
      20.04 is faster.

      True, right-clicking on a menu item is slow, but I don't remember it being fast on 18.04. And it's just as slow on neon which has an 18.04 base - newer plasma.
      But then, I almost never do it.
