[SOLVED] Folders on desktop

I upgraded from 19.10 to 20.04. Everything seemed to go well, but all my home folders are now on the desktop. I thought they were links, but when I moved one to the trash it removed it from dolphin.
How would I go about not having them on the desktop

Odd, but this is easy to fix. Assuming you are using the default Folder View desktop layout-, right click on your desktop somewhere, click Configure Desktop >> Location , and make sure that the default option of 'Desktop folder' is checked. You can select a custom folder if you like.

If you don't like having files and folders on your desktop at all, you can switch the layout to 'Desktop" which only will have widgets and icons, as opposed to showing your physical ~/Desktop folder.
