    Partition help for install

    Hi so I have a dual boot win10 and Kubuntu 18 currently, looking to do a clean install, so wipe 18 and fresh Kubuntu 20 in it's place. The SSD is 250GB, with a shared ntfs drive for both OS's. When it comes to the manual screen for where to make / delete partitions im kinda lost since I am worried about boot loaders etc. Can anyone give any help ? Partition table is here:

    sdb6 I think is my current linux, do I just delete that and make it primary ext4?

    Re. partitioning, no need to do anything except, from the manual partitioning screen, select the EXT4 partiton, set it as "/" (root), then check the "format" box. The installer will re-format the partition during installation.

    You don't say why you're "worried about boot loaders." Are you booting from the Windows boot manager or via GRUB from Linux?

    If you're using the windows boot manager, you should launch the installer with the "-b" option so it does not install a bootloader. To do this, boot to the LiveUSB version of Kubuntu, Select "Try Kubuntu". When your logged into the live session, open Konsole and run "sudo ubiquity -b" to start the installation.

    If you are already using GRUB to boot to Windows, just go ahead and install. The new GRUB will replace the old one and detect your windows install at the same time.

      Installing kubuntu 20.10 with windows 10
      Installing Ubuntu is pretty straightforward. The installer asks if it's a dual boot installation or complete installation. If dual boot,it recognises the free unallocated space. I shrank my windows partition and left the unallocated space as I could format it better from Live boot but didn't have to do. It just took off from there.

      Where as on kubuntu, the option was to auto flash entire disk or go manual. I browsed the net for kubuntu installation manuals and followed one from kubuntu v18 on YouTube.

      I had 100gb space so I created /home partition 96gb and 4gb as swap. That was all in the guide. I didn not create a space for EFI as the guide didn't ask create it. My EFI was auto flashed to sda partition by auto. When rebooted, I had grub booting so can choose from which OS to boot.

      My experience;
      First flashed android as second os. Then chrome os. Then Ubuntu. At this point I came across KDE desktops! So installed kde neon but I wanted a distro which keeps up with Ubuntu builds so decided on kubuntu. a great unification of KDE and Ubuntu. Can we request the developers to build a similar dual boot setup like Ubuntu during setup? In my opinion, it will increase the user band. Many people install Ubuntu because the installation is easy. Leaving an option open like that guarantees the manufacture of correct installations.

      Conclusion:
      My kubuntu is running without issues so far. All apps, booting, works without crash or errors - so far. And it's awesome!
