[DESKTOP] Last Update broke completely my PC

    Hi,

I'm using a PC with 2 screens on the same NVIDIA graphic card, unfortunately , after updating, only one screen works in 800x600 (on a 17") , the x login is not anymore kdm but likely gdm3). So I have to boot on the previous kernel (Linux version 5.4.0-47-generic) and it works but I can't upgrade the kernel.

Someone understands what has happened ?

    Regards,

No way you have either KDM or GDM unless you changed it on purpose. SDDM is the default. However those are display managers that launch the desktop and hove no impact after log in.

It sounds to me like your newly installed kernel doesn't have the nvidia driver module available to it. Boot to the old kernel and run "dkms status" in a terminal window and report the results. This assumes you're using the nvidia driver supplied by apt and that you have not downloaded and installed the driver package from the nvidia website. If you did that, you have to install it again.

Note that there are a couple posts about the latest update causing problems
