[SOLVED] PDP Wired Controller detected as two controllers

It just started this behavior today. Some update just came through within the last 24 hours that broke my whole gaming experience.
I've been using this controller for over two months. It's not the controller's fault, because I own two of them, and both of them behave the same.

If I go to Settings > Input Devices > Game Controller, my single controller plugged in via USB (it's a PDP wired Xbox One controller) shows as two separate devices, and now neither Steam nor any of my games will respond to it.

It shows up as:
Generic X-Box pad (/dev/input/js0)
and
Microsoft X-Box 360 pad (/dev/input/js1)

When I press buttons on the gamepad, they only register under the device called Generic X-Box pad.
Nothing lights up at all under Microsoft X-Box 360 pad.

Is there a way of blocking the system from seeing /dev/input/js1 for now, until someone hopefully fixes this?

I'm on Kubuntu 20.04, all updates installed, kernel 5.8.0-44, but I've tried a couple different kernels, and nothing changes.

Thanks for the response. I think I found the culprit. I believe the unknown update was Steam.

While in BigPicture mode, if I went to Settings > Controller Settings, both controller names I mentioned in my original post were there.
Also, "Xbox Configuration Support" and "Generic Gamepad Configuration Support" were both checked.

I don't remember if that's new or not, but I unchecked them both, and now Steam's Controller Settings window only shows "Xbox One Controller" under Detected Controllers.
Plus, in Kubuntu System Settings > Input Devices > Game Controller, only "Generic X-Box pad (/dev/input/js0)" is there now.

I guess Steam's configuration support was creating a second, virtual joystick in /dev/input/? I don't get it.
