Lock screen (SDDM?) borked when resuming with laptop + external monitor

I have a laptop (a Starlabs Starbook V) connected to a Philips 354B ultrawide monitor. Suspend/resume works, but when I resume, the layout of the password prompt etc on the external monitor is messed up. The login prompt is cut off, and sometimes is duplicated to the upper left portion of the screen. This duplicate does not respond to mouse clicks or typing. Has anyone else experienced this with a laptop + monitor setup?

I have a QHD monitor that sometimes doesn't wake up fast enough to get told how to look. (I don't use the lock screen, though.) You might try switching the monitor off and on just before resuming.
