(Has anyone found out how to solve this? I have seen the question on various forums, for instance here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...rg/+bug/467068
http://user.services.openoffice.org/...p?f=16&t=24508
http://user.services.openoffice.org/...hp?f=16&t=5991
The problem seems to apply mostly to Kubuntu rather than to Ubuntu.
I am using a clean new install of Karmic on a netbook.
Using default version of OpenOffice (3.1.1) from repos. (I even think, though I am not sure if I remember correctly, that it was automatically installed with the 9.04)
Problem: in oO, I click a URL, and Konqueror may or may not opens (though it is not the browser set as default in system settings). and if I am lucky (if I am not using too much memory), a dialogue appears in oO telling me that no browser was found. If my little netbook has a lot of programs running, oO just freezes and process has to be killed. If I am really unlucky, everything freezes and Netbook has to be restarted.
If I define Konqueror as default browser, oO still behaves the same way, "can't find browser".
No trouble finding default browser from other applications.
Tried to rename ~/.openoffice.org/3/user (profile folder)
tried to change the browser in x-www-browser (in /etc/alternatives)
Seems like something that should be determined in some setting somewhere, which nobody seems able to find.
Anyone out there?
Later: I see there are three x-www-browser. In addition to the one I mentioned above, there is one in /usr/bin/, and one in /var/lib/dpkg/alternatives.
