K Menu - how to edit?

I would like to remove the 'Favourites' and 'Recently Used' lists in the above. Is that easy (and safe) to do?

If so which file do I need to look at?

    Thanks.

Right mouse on the KMenu icon and chose "Application Menu launcher Settings". In the dialog which appears uncheck "Recent" and "Favorites". Click OK.

      Ah,

      Is this a compromise?

I'm using the 'Kickoff' style and not 'Classic'. There is no option in 'Kickoff' (that I can see) as there is in 'Classic.

Don't think so. Right mousing on the icon doesn't give you the option i mentioned? It's probably there on another icon, maybe the system one.

          Mmmmm,

Does not look like it. I'll look around a bit more.

          Thanks.

I just checked. The "Menu Editor" is there. Perhaps if you unlock widgets and right mouse on the "Favorites" star you'll see it.

              Errr nope.

Odd really, you would think that 'Kickoff' would at least have the same functionality as 'Classic'.

Do you see the same as me or has your desktop got this option?

Nope - no difference there ....... perhaps I have some functionality missing.

If I cannot resolve I'll wipe this 'unsolvable' item from the board. Thanks for your input GreyGeek.

But you can't remove the Favorites tab, or any of the other tabs in Kickoff.

Yup, that does seem to be the case as far as 'user' options go but how about a hack?

I would have thought that the prog. could have been amended trouble is I don't know where to look (or even start looking)

have you tried right clicking on your kmenu (icon) and selecting menu editor.i can also get the menu by right clicking on ANY part of the k-menu frame including the lower icons that GG was talking about.

you can also run it with the command in a run box
kmenuedit
"Remove it"? No. Uncheck it so that it is hidden? Yes. Effectively the same thing.

                              Yo - getting busy here.

Note that this issue (on my box) is that 'kickoff' does not have the uncheck/check option that you find in 'classic'.

                              and . . .

KMenuEdit (again on my box) only edits the items in the 'Applications' section of the launcher nothing else.

I was thinking that a little config. editing would solve the issue but it appears (thanks Rog131) that a little coding is required but I think my coding days are over and not appropriate as I was into some stuff similar to (dare I say) advanced HMTL and that over a decade ago!

Still I might give it a try - just for fun.

Thanks to everyone for the input/suggestions.
