SOLVED: Xorg is cpu hog since KDE 4.2.2 installation

I do not remember seeing this before I upgraded to KDE 4.2.2 the day before yesterday.

I have stopped all the applications I can, including FIrefox, but Xorg still uses up to 80% of CPU. Even when there is nothing to display except the system monitor. Surely that cannot be a big cpu user.

I also see ksysguard (Is that the system monitor? I don't see that name in the Help/about.) and plasma-desktop running, the latter sometimes with up to 20% cpu.

What gives? I know KDE 4.2.2 is still a beta.

I think I've solved my own problem. In fact, I use a slideshow for my screen background. With KDE 4.4.2 installation, the period for that had been reset to 10 seconds, which made a lot of work for Xorg. I reset it to 10 minutes and now Xorg is below 5%.

    Sorry for the bother.
