Kickoff Plasma Widget Modification

I hope that I haven't over looked any topic on this point, but I've yet to see any info. on this.

I have been looking around for quite some time now nearly two weeks worth of scouring.
I'm looking for the directory of the Kickoff Plasma widget as I would like to edit it. I personally hate the giant Icons on the bottom. I find them to be a serious eye sore. I've tried altering the icons but only managed to remove the scalable icons and in there stead the kickoff grabbed the smaller ones scaled them up (made them grainy looking) to a larger size and it made kickoff look worse.

It would be nice if I could actually get the plasma widget itself to mod and then add it in after I'm done. If anyone could help or if anyone knows anything of this topic please let me know. If any other clarification is required for this topic please ask.

I am afraid, as far as I know, it's not quite as easy as changing a config file, or swapping out graphics. But, on the bright side, it's already programmed for you you just need to alter a bit of code.

Thank you for your quick response to my inquiry. I will download the source and look into it. Looks like that programming I did in college may pay off. If anyone else has any ideas or rather thoughts that they think will help on this subject please throw in your two cents.
