    superkaramba under 4.4.2

I have tried to install few superkaramba themes (nvidia gpu core temp monitoring) without success. KDE 4.4.2 is installed form backports. OHOH, these related packages

    plasma-scriptengine-superkaramba 4:4.4.1-0ubuntu1~karmic1~ppa1
    superkaramba 4:4.4.1-0ubuntu1~karmic1~ppa1

are installed. Is it a reason of my problem? Must I just wait for above packages updating?

...or, rephrasing, does anybody use some superkaramba-based plasmoid under KDE 4.4.2?

superkaramba plasmoids also now fail to install for me. I will post the specific error message I get with CrystalMonitor 9 when I get back into kubuntu.

It seems superkaramba must be started manually before any manipulations with it's themes.

The error I get when trying to drag a crystal monitor widget to the desktop is:

Could not locate the sk_cm903 package required for the CrystalMonitor 9 widget
This widget worked under kde 4.4.1.

I can manually start the superkaramba theme manager and run the superkaramba widgets but the widget skin's are not applied correctly (if at all).

The problem is present in Lucid kde sc 4.4.2 as well (and worked in 4.4.1).

However, on Arch linux with kdemod 4.4.2 superkaramba themes load just fine as plasma applets, which suggests that it is either a kubuntu specific problem, or arch kdemod has fixed the issue. Haven't had a chance to look into it further.

superkaramba themes behave a bit different when run as a plasma applet or when loaded with superkaramba (when run with superkaramba, they do not integrate fully with plasma desktop: No plasma theme, don't show in dashboard etc.)

              Re: superkaramba under 4.4.2

I had a look at what is expected of the widget (http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/KDE/kdel...pp?view=markup) and based on that just touched metadata.desktop inside the ./share/apps/plasma/plasmoids/$whatever/ directory and that seems to have resolved it.

So something this should work for you.
              Code:
              touch $HOME/.kde/share/apps/plasma/plasmoids/sk_cm903/metadata.desktop
Would be cool if someone could actually create a bug for this.

Thanks - I had been butting my head against this one myself for a while, but had not got round to a detailed investigation of the source.
At least I can confirm that it works.

The latest commit from Mr. Plasma looks like it would fix that:
