xscreensaver-data-extra - install config errors

Hi all

Tried to install more screensavers than default which required xscreensaver-data-extra as a dependency.

Unfortunately there is a conflict with pacman (previously installed for the kids).

When I try to get rid of pacman via "sudo apt-get remove pacman" I get the following:

You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 kscreensaver-xsavers-extra: Depends: xscreensaver-data-extra but it is not going to be installed                                         
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

"apt-get -r install" wants me to install SC 4.4.2 (which I would rather not do until this is sorted).
Ditto with "sudo dpkg --configure -a".


Any ideas would be appreciated.
