    No Package Cache, error

"The package list needs to be rebuilt. This should have been done by the backend automatically."

What does this mean, and how would I fix it?

This is the response I get from doing: sudo apt-get update

E: Type 'echo' is not known on line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ddebs.list

The last thing(s) I did before this started happening was, I installed WINE from winehq.com and then installed DDL (Driver's Daily Log).

I uninstalled DDL. That didn't change anything.

      Any other suggestions?
