I have updated my Kubuntu system correctly, all up to date (as of yesterday 8:00pm). This morning I tried to burn a CD with K3b. It just stalled and had no progress whatsoever. I then decided to convert the tracks to .ogg since I figured K3b wouldn't burn .m4a (music from an old Mac, I know). But the conversion in K3b would not work either, just stalled as if I were burning a CD. Any ideas?

Re: K3b issue when burning audio CD
Couple of thought, but may have missed the mark
If it has worked before it may be that updating your system has created an inconsistency with the K3b setup. You could try renaming the k3b folder in home/.kde/share/apps and then launching K3b again.
Have you installed the package faac, which is I believe required for AAC files?
