Panel/Taskbar and the Desktop have disappeared. [SOLVED]

I'm running Kubuntu 9.10(x64) on a laptop (Clevo M860TU) and changed the "performance" level using the battery applet when it froze. Couldn't do anything so I did a hard shut down and then restarted. When I restarted the panel was missing and the desktop was also. It appeared black and right clicking doesn't do anything. I can't pull up the "kicker" with Alt+F2, but luckily I had some terminals open so I can open up some programs. If I try to switch programs the top edge of the "screen" that has the exit, max/min, and resize buttons disappears as well.

I've tried replacing the driver in xorg but that doesn't appear to fix anything.

I have no idea what's going on or how to fix it right now, help?

Thanks, that solved it. Quite the ungraceful crash by plasma then. Gonna mark it solved soon as I find the edit button.
