Kubuntu 9.10/64 bit kept up-to-date.
I have been away for a few weeks and came home today to see a lot of updates. I accepted them all and did the upgrade - KDE 4.4 and a new kernel were the biggest part. Did a restart and Kontact/KMail is now dead. I get a window showing akonadi being started that never ends. KMail comes up and checks for new mail, but nothing else works. Can't read mail, send mail, and the message display area appears to be garbage. I have checked in the forums and ideas there didn't work. The last I saw was a message saying today's update fixes the problem. It didn't do so for me.
What might I be able to do to provide more information?
