Split desktop vertically in the middle?

    Hi there,

I sometimes work at computers with large screens, so I wondered whether it would be possible to split the desktop vertically in the middle as if I were looking at two physically separated screens?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Dude, that would be way cool, I do not know if it is possible, though I have seen in kde, when the little yang symbol is press at the top right, and then zoom out. I have seen more than one screen in you tube videos. So, if that sounds to what you are looking for, so do I. I need to know how to do that.

    Can somebody please help?

I've learned something: "Throwing" a window in the left or right corner is actually even better, maximizes them to half the screen.

So the question is how would I do that?

I think that's default behavyer in KDE4.4.1 ......try it

drag a window to the left or right side of the desktop wile draging the curser will turn into the 4 arrows ....when you get the curser to the edge of the screen the oughtline of a window should apper leting go of the window then will open it 1/2 screen.

Just click/hold on the window title bar and drag the window to the upper-left/right corner.

But of course, this feature is for running desktop applications, and not the desktop itself, which was the question asked by the OP.
