    How to reinstall Akonadi

    Please, Help!!!
Running Kontact, I had the standard error in Akonadi startup:

100218 19:46:58 [Note] Plugin 'FEDERATED' is disabled.
    100218 19:46:59 InnoDB: Started; log sequence number 0 19588305
100218 19:46:59 [Warning] Can't open and lock time zone table: Table 'mysql.time_zone_leap_second' doesn't exist trying to live without them
100218 19:46:59 [ERROR] Can't open and lock privilege tables: Table 'mysql.servers' doesn't exist
    100218 19:46:59 [ERROR] Cannot open mysql.db
    100218 19:46:59 [ERROR] Cannot open mysql.user
    100218 19:46:59 [ERROR] Cannot open mysql.event
100218 19:46:59 [ERROR] Event Scheduler: An error occurred when initializing system tables.
    100218 19:46:59 [Note] /usr/sbin/mysqld-akonadi: ready for connections.
    Version: '5.1.37-1ubuntu5-log' socket: '/home/fran/.local/share/akonadi/db_misc/mysql.socket' port: 0 (Ubuntu)
    100218 19:47:15 [Note] /usr/sbin/mysqld-akonadi: Normal shutdown

    100218 19:47:15 InnoDB: Starting shutdown...
100218 19:47:16 InnoDB: Shutdown completed; log sequence number 0 19637794
100218 19:47:16 [Warning] Forcing shutdown of 1 plugins
    100218 19:47:16 [Note] /usr/sbin/mysqld-akonadi: Shutdown complete

Trying to fix it, do not ask me why, I installed mysql-server-5.1, afterwards I removed it, and now Akonadi does not run at all, with the following error:

100218 19:49:53 [Note] Plugin 'FEDERATED' is disabled.
    100218 19:49:53 InnoDB: Started; log sequence number 0 19637794
    /usr/sbin/mysqld-akonadi: File './mysql-bin.000026' not found (Errcode: 13)
100218 19:49:53 [ERROR] Could not use mysql-bin for logging (error 13). Turning logging off for the whole duration of the MySQL server process. To turn it on again: fix the cause, shutdown the MySQL server and restart it.
    100218 19:49:53 [ERROR] Aborting

And now, I cannot open Kontact nor Kmail.

How can I restore it to the original situation, at least I was able to open my mail and contacts.

    Thanks!

    Re: How to reinstall Akonadi

Have you tried to re-install the Akondi package? (akonadi-server) You can do that from CLI with apt-get or use your favorite GUI package manager.

Yes, I did and Akonadi was not able to start again. It was totally out of my knowledge, I have no idea about mysql, so I finally decided to reinstall Kubuntu.

      Thanks
