    vlc+ vlc mozilla plugin doesn't play quicktime video

    hi..
    i wanted to see the video on apple.com
    but the video is not rendering.. it was asking for quicktime player.

    looked around for the similar posts on kubuntuforum..
    installed vlc mozilla plugin but still doesn't play the video inside firefox.

    any solution?

      I installed user agent switcher plug in.
      and then step through the linuxjournel instructions..
      but nope.. no luck as of now..

        It's not that one can't play *.mov files. I downloaded the avatar quicktime trailer and it still plays beautifully. It looks like Apple is checking other things besides the browser and blocking Linux clients.

          ofcourse vlc plays all those format after downloading..
          but i wanted to play it inside browser.. while streaming..
          @GG: have u been successful in doing that? plz tell..

            I have VLC set as my multimedia quicktime player in FireFox. Up till Apple changed their website access to mov files I had no problem playing them. The last one I looked at was the Avatar trailer, in December. Attempts to play it now fail.

            I've had twelve different media sources playing with VLC at the same time in a 3 X 4 grid on my screen. While I have never had a reason to set up streaming output I have no doubts that an instance of VLC would be able to stream while FireFox is playing another video with embedded VLC. After all, each instance can work on a different URL, or even on the same one. As far as streaming is concerned, you can stream from more than one port...

              I have gecko-mediaplayer plugin in firefox and using user agent I can play apple trailers
