I have a couple issues on my laptop with the latest stable kernel, 2.6.31-19-generic:
1.) My ALC268 audio chipset no longer functions. KDE gives a message asking to remove the devices.
2.) KDE intermittently fails to boot properly. Sometimes I just get a black screen.
I've tried a vanilla 2.6.32.12 from ubuntu's kernel ppa, it doesn't have issue #1, but it does have issue #2.
Reverting to an older kernel like 2.6.31-9-rt seems to make both issues go away.
It's an Acer Aspire laptop, 5520-5155.
