KDE 4.4 Upgrade Error

Just did a dist-upgrade after adding backports rep. Was previously running 4.35. The download went fine but the install bombed out with an error about kscreensaver-xsaver not being able to delete some .desktop file. I ended up uninstalling kscreensaver-xsaver, kscreensaver and kdeartwork (which also dragged a few other packages out the door with it) before the install would complete. When I try to add back kdeartwork and the screensavers, I get this error:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kdeartwork: Depends: kscreensaver (>= 4:4.4.0-0ubuntu1~karmic1~ppa1) but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages

More specifically, trying to add kscreensaver: The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kscreensaver: Depends: libkscreensaver5 (>= 4:4.4.0a) but 4:4.4.0-0ubuntu1~karmic1~ppa2 is to be installed
E: Broken packages

I was able to re-install kscreensaver-xsavers ok.

My 64bit Karmic upgrades without problems this evening. Perhaps it is a 32 bit problem?

Dist-upgraded this evening to KDE 4.4.0. Was on KDE 4.3.5. Upgrade was fine. The only 'glitch' I'm experiencing, is that part of the KSplashx splash screen is appearing 'before' the KDM Login screen, overlaying that screen. A separate post on that is located here.
