    flashplugin-nonfree broken after upgrade to Karmic

    After upgrading form 8.4 HH LTS to 9.10 KK flashplugin-nonfree is broken.
    It can not be removed or reinstalled. It blocs all actions as, even after apt-get update.
    I removed all related files from var/lib/dpkg/info/
    The error states that the files is very inconsistant and should be reinstalled before removing.
    But installing the file gives the same error.
    also aptitude --pruge is stopped with the same problem.
    Apparantly the file is no longer available, but is still registered in dpkg.
    What more options are there?

    Is there a direct upgrade path from 8.04 to 9.10? I'm kinda surprised anything works if you really did that :P

    Did you replace the 8.04 Medibuntu repo with the 9.10 Medibuntu repo? I would do that first, then
    Code:
    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install --reinstall flashplugin-nonfree
    But no guarantees -- you're deep into experimental territory, I think ....

    EDIT: OK, found the official guidance here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ka...s/Kubuntu/8.04

    eating my crow pie now.

    If adding the 9.10 Medibuntu repo does not work, possibly you could remove --purge your browser first, then reinstall the browser, then try again with the plugin. Just guessing ....
