    firefox 3.6 and sun java jre 18 update

    i just wanted to let you guys know that I have installed Firefox 3.6 and I am not having any issues. i am using 64 bit. I did have to do a manual install of the new sun java to get the mozilla plugin to install but it's all working pretty well.

    firefox 32 bit

    thanks for the info.

    questions:

    1. how about flash? the 64 bit ok?

    2. currently i m running 64bit firefox with jre update 15, will the 3.6 works on jre update 15?

      You should use the link I provided to install the java update for 64bit. It has updated security.

      I'm not having any issues with flash.

        thanks for the reply, i tried install but end up with FF 3.6pre1 with the name of Namirokko instead of Mozilla Firefox with the icon turned into question mark.

          Yes they won't name it Firefox until it's officialy supported by Kubuntu, but you did install the newest version according to what the Firefox devs are realeasing. As far as the icon goes you should be able to right click on it and change the icon.

              With new firefox 3.6 the simlink to the plugin has changed.

              The previews versions of firefox also can use that new plugin, but the new firefox works only with the new one.

              I installed both without the officials packages and it works great.

                Hello,
                I am fairly new to Linux, and I installed FireFox 3.6 and there seems to be a flicker when I play games in Facebook. Could this be Adobe Flash Player 10 being unstable? There was the same flicker with FireFox 3.5.
                I have Kubuntu dual booted on an HP Pavilion dv6835nr entertainment notebook 32bit. MS Vista is on the other partition.
