    [SOLVED] Skype?

I have seen in a couple of posts state that installing "Medibuntu" will get me Skype.

I have the following in my "source.list" though Skype does not come up when doing a search via synaptic.

    ## Medibuntu - Ubuntu 9.10 "karmic koala"
    # sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com 2EBC26B60C5A2783
    deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ karmic free non-free
    deb-src http://packages.medibuntu.org/ karmic free non-free

    Any suggestion?

Running Kubuntu x64 v9.10 with all current updates.

Did, seems to make no difference.

Skype is not yet in the Karmic 64 bit medibuntu repository, however you can download the Intrepid deb from the Skype site and install it and it will work fine, except there is a problem getting the microphone to work if your mic is part of your USB camera. I had to remove Pulseaudio to get it to work.

            Re: Skype?

Skype has been removed from the Medibuntu repository. They recommend going to the Skype download site and chose the appropriate app.

For the 64b Kubuntu Skype offers the Ubuntu 8.10+ 64-bit version. Or, you could use the static binary on the same site. I use the first offering and it works well on my 64b KK installation.

              Thanks all.

I got the x64 version from the Skype site and it is working flawlessly.
