Building radeonhd & mesa

I have a Radeon HD 4890, and want to compile the open-source drivers for it from GIT. I did a 'sudo aptitude install build essential', 'sudo aptitude install git-core'. Do I need anything else? http://wiki.x.org/wiki/radeonhd:experimental_3D

I had many problems with FGLRX
