SATA drive freezing on aspire one

    Heloo everybody .
I'm new to kubuntu forum ( just registered )

    Excuse me for my English
I searched here and google and didn't find anything that can help.

Hardware is Aspire One 8.9` with 8 GB SSD drive and 320 GB SATA drive
( Sata drive mod.If somebody wants to know how this modification was made please write me an e-mail,
i'll explain and help with kind of documentation if you want to try this )

CPU Intel Atom N270 -1.6 GHz
    RAM 1.5 GB

Problem apears to be in a driver for sata drive .!!!?
Just to be sure I removed my SSD , reinstall my
kubuntu 9.10 netbook edition (for standart x86 architecture).
    only with SATA drive .

Error is apsearing frequently ( aproximetly on every 300 MB writen to the disk ).
Netbook freezes for a few secconds ( sometimes for 1 or 2 minutes ).
[ this bug does not appear when i read from the disk. Only when writing the files]

    output from dmesg | tail -n 20

Re: SATA drive freezing on aspire one

I doubt that we will be able to assist you, given that you 'modified' the SATA HD and have chosen not to provide information on that modification. Asking us to email you for the information is inappropriate. Please provide the modification information you made here. If you are unwilling to do that, well...

      for the sata mod.
Aspire one , sata mod is easy one.
and not relative to the problem , that's the reason why i did not explane it here
anyway , i will write it here
( but it shoud be on other forum [ something like hacking aspire , or moding aspire ....etc.] ).

I just wanted to help if someone wants to do it by himself. Some soldering experience is required.
motherboard supports SATA, but no connector itself.
if you get sata connector just solder it here

[this pic i not mine -> just from quick search in google]
      http://www.theacerguy.com/wp-content...nectSolder.jpg
and solder points on resistor R364 <- to get power to your HDD
and VOILA you have a sata disk support.

there is a version of this nettop with windows , it has this "mod" from factory

so mi problem is not in the hardware
( i do not have this problem whit Limpus installed on this SATA disk, but i dont like it at all )

Re: SATA drive freezing on aspire one

        ...similar problems here

        http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=213585
        and
        https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=462425#c80

        suggested solution was adding
        acpi=off noapic
        to kernel boot options
... sadly didn't work for me

        same problem here
        https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ux/+bug/279693
and installing linux-rt and booting from it ,also didn't ..
....looks like problem in sata driver.....

        any ideas ....anybody
