    kded4 burning cpu cycles

    Hi,

I am a experienced Linux/KDE user but now I am stuck. After a complete new installation of Kubuntu 9.10 (amd64) the process kded4 is hogging one of mine cpu's. I have tried several things to find the problem but with no success. I disabled all the widgets(plasmoids). Disabled all services. I even tried to kill it and restart it by hand but then it screwed up my “system tray”.

Is there anyone out there with the same problems and a solution to this.

    Andy

Ok, I narrowed it down a bit. Every time an event, with a sound, occurs kded4 goes sky high. Any thoughts?

Never mind, found the problem. There was something terribly wrong with my account name en uid combination. Kunbuntu creates an account staring with id 1000. But for some, local, reason I wanted it to be 500. Tried to change this but this some thing wrong? Really don't know what. Recreated a new account and now everything seems to work without kded4 going sky high.

      Thanks for the help!
