    Lotus Symphony

I am running IBM Lotus Symphony in Karmic and it certainly seems to be pretty damned good so far. Has anybody else tried it? It is available in the main KK repository.

I can't find it using kpackagekit? Looking at the wikipedia page it looks an interesting layout but it says the apps are based on OOo 1.1.4 which is quite old now. Not sure how much IBM has updated that code base.

The main problem with linux office apps is their limited ability to use MS formats. Is symphony any better at this?

OK, I suspect that you need to enable unsupported updates in software sources. I can't say that it has all MS fonts but Tahoma, Comic Sans, Arial etc are there. I usually use Adept as it always seems to work, whereas Kpackagekit was buggy the last time I used it.

It's not available in main, it's available in Partner.

I have used Lotus Symphony till 9.10 came out. It's a really good program, but since 9.10 I fell in love with KOffice 2.1
But when Lotus Symphony 2.0 comes out next year, I try it again for sure

OK, thanks for that, I just tick everything in Software Sources regardless.
