Removed menu entries still appear in the search?...

Why is it that even after I remove a menu entry the removed entry still shows up when I type in the menu search bar?... How do I go about correcting this?

    Regards,

Negative. Tried that as well as a full restart already. Other suggestions?

I find that the search tool there also looks at documents as well as all apps in your $PATH (such as /bin). Enter 'xterm' for example, and it does show up even though there is no menu entry for it anywhere. I don't see a way to change this.

Is this a problem with 9.10 or with KDE 4.4? I'm running 9.04 w/KDE 4.3.2 and this behavior is not present. When I delete a K menu entry, it does not show in a K search.

Hmm I am going to assume it is a 4.4 thing, as I am not seeing it in 4.3.4 - I keep forgetting my daily machine is running SC 4.4

In 4.3.4, only menu items show up; in 4.4 it works like krunner (alt-f2 run command dialog)

Is there something I can go in and manually remove so the old entries no longer appear? It is *super* annoying.

that would explain why on my computer i have entries for programs i can't find in the menu editor. wanted to move them. (the only example i can think of atm is waste's edge.)
