    Mouse cursor theme resets to oxygen

    Hi,

    First post here, moving from XP to Kubuntu - or at least trying to

    When I change my mouse cursor theme to KDE Classic, it changes back to the default Oxygen White after reboot.

    Does anyone know why this?

    I have the same problem, but, a solution I use is to get Oxygen-Cursor-Theme-Extra (Colors) through Synaptic Package Manager and choose black. Just type in "theme" in the search line. It looks nicer and the added cursors are easier to see in all backgrounds.

      A workaround is to rename (disable) the /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme. Then the KDE Classic is the default theme or make another index.theme. Then that theme will be the default theme.

      New default theme:

      Tried with the > Redhat's Bluecurve Theme.

      1) Unpacking 39229-bluecurve-0.1.1.tar.gz. Copying the bluecurve folder to the /usr/share/icons/bluecurve.

      2) Making a /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme:
      Code:
      [Icon Theme]
      Name = Bluecurve
      Comment = No comment
      Inherits=gnome,crystalsvg
