Kubuntu's 'Office integration' silently overwrites any existing file.

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...rg/+bug/463251

So kubuntu devs have been sleeping on this bug for the last two months, and I lost more than half a day's work about this.
So I can only recommend to really everyone to
Menu Tools, Options, Openoffice.org, General and tick the box for "use openoffice.org dialogs"
as they have not 'forgotten' to check for an existing file of the same name, contrary to the devs of kubuntu.

Remove the openoffice.org-kde package and install the openoffice.org-gnome package. It sounds dumb, I know, but you can still use the oxygen icons and kubuntu's gnome-to-oxygen theming will make it look reasonably decent, and it's a lot more stable.
