    adding login screen themes

I downloaded a couple of new login screen themes (running Kubuntu 9.1) and although I downloaded them by clicking the check box, I don't know where they now are.... they certainly don't automatically show up in the dialog box to choose from..

can someone please tell me where to find them There's an option to install new theme, but I don't know where to point the software to in order to find it.

    thanks

    They should be /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/themes/

Could you tell the theme names ?

    Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

      Re: adding login screen themes

Weird, the ones that are "stock" with Kubuntu are definately in that directory, but I thought I had downloaded a couple of other ones - they don't show up in that directory.

The ones I currently have are "circles, oxygen, oxygen-air"

Again: Could you tell theme names ?

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link

Some of the themes in the > KDM4 Themes / KDE Look.org won't work with the System Settings > Login Manager > Theme > Get New Themes.

This is same as with the > Topic: Change the splash?

Some of the themes are using external download pages. Example > Snowy Alley is using mediafire/4shared.

If you want to use those themes you need to browse to the external download page and download the archive and use the System Settings > Login Manager > Theme > Install new theme.
