Kubuntu Karmic koala, grub modules, mmcblk and so on....

I have read discussion (http://ubuntu-rescue-remix.org/node/197) about grub configuration to boot directly an ISO image from mmc cardreader, there was an acer aspire one hw, but the same is in my acer aspire 5720...

In short, there is config to boot just from an ISO image, placed in mmc storage card. bios does not see it as a drive, while grub, running from main storage, can see.

    People say that it works.

It looks strangely, but at the moment I can not set it up correctly, may be due to a lack of appropriate grub module in /boot/grub, kubuntu I have got is plain karmic 9.10, stable updates, previous versions (alpha and beta) were working with this config, supporting mmc visibility under grub.

Is there a solution to successfully boot from mmc or any useful info about mmc capable grub modules?

    Thanks for help!

I don't know, molostoff. I've only played with toy examples of GRUB 2 "boot from iso" (just to see it go) and what little I've done (and forgotten about!) is here:

In the OP, under References, I listed those I read:

Sounds like you may have stumbled upon some of these? They are worth a try to see if any poster have done what you need to do--or, perhaps, you could post on one. Seems that machel-prokop, panticz, and JustRon are leading the way so far with boot from iso in GRUB 2.

Thanks for these links, they are useful indeed.

But the key question is how to do the same things with the mmcblk device driver.

Now 9.10 see only hd0 device, but no hd1 (which is supposed to be a /dev/mmcblk0)

Perhaps there is a good point to display what I wish: Installing_Linux_on_booting_SD_card
and yes - it is very old, but very close to this key question on mmcblk, as it still unresolved clearly to me.
